The New Zealander, Matt Innes founded both Touch in Munich as well as Germany in January 2003. The first official training session had began with humble begings, with just 5 people present. Throughout 2003 came new players like Keith Baxter, Amanda Currie, Graham Thomas, Esther Altenfeld and Regi Rueckerl.
Sadly in 2004 Matt Innes went back to New Zealand. With the help Graham Thomas, Esther Altenfeld, Duncan Binger, Amanda Currie amongst others the team was restructured. Then throughout 2005 and 2006 more players came along and Gideon Yeomans took the club to new heights with often 20 or more people in attendance. Seonaid Baird and Amanda Currie amongst others supporting Gideon in slowly making Munich Touch the strongest club in Germany, both in numbers of players as well as playing standards.
In 2007, the Munich club showed they are the strongest club by winning the Tri Series Tournment and losing in the dying seconds in the German Championship Final. The team did show that they are the strongest club in that they have fielded 2 teams at an away event in 2007. No other team in Germany has achieved this feat ever! What the future holds for Munich Touch Football nobody knows. But one is for sure. The committee and the players are all equally determined that the club goes forward both on and off the field. Touch Munich work with both Rugby League Deutschland as well as the 2 Rugby Union Clubs in Munich. The aim is to get more people, especially Germans playing Rugby of any kind and making sure that all 3 Rugby codes have a positive future in munich and the surrounding area. We hope that you will join us in achieving this aim.

The squad of 2007!
